What Matters Most
Hope. When a student has hope all things are possible. When students enter one of our Learning Centers, we strive to cultivate hope and help them see all that they can achieve. Driven by the belief that all people matter, I believe it is a principal’s responsibility to create an inclusive, safe, kind environment in which students and staff are able to learn and grow as individuals and as members of a community. Many students coming to the Learning Center have had difficult experiences in school. Thus, they come to us with an idea that they cannot succeed in school and that school teachers and administrators do not like them. The way to gain a student’s trust and cooperation is by building relationships, and through those relationships we restore hope and confidence. Me, as well as my entire staff, are dedicated to fostering all that is good and positive in the child and instilling in them the belief that all things are possible.
Our kids know this is a safe place where they will be loved and treated with respect. When those smiles come back at us we know the answer to 'why do we do what we do.'
